The Autumn season is kicked off
with a superb quintet led by one of the great British trumpet
and flugelhorn masters, Dick Pearce,
who has brought together some of the very best jazz musicians
in the UK in his new band. Having played in Ronnie Scott's band
from 1980- 1993, Dick established himself as one of the finest
trumpeters of his generation and his collaboration with Ronnie
Scott gave him a great insight into what makes a jazz outfit
successful - a combination of top musicians, playing jazz standards
and interacting in a way that only happens in a jazz concert
- so come along and experience for yourself the unique atmosphere
of a great jazz gig at the Club.
"Look at the Trumpet player
with Ronnie Scott tonight, Dick Pearce. Tremendously talented-
I called home to a couple of friends of mine about him."
